John Maclane Schirard attended Rollins College, in Winter Park, FL, where he majored in Music focusing on Composition, Conducting, and Vocal Performance and is currently working towards his MFA in Music Composition at the Vermont College of Fine Arts. As a composer and arranger, his clients include the Bach Festival Society of Winter Park, Resolve, Rollins College, Seminole State College, renowned pianist Kristine Griffin, Morgan Davis Peckels, and more. Maclane has music published through Excelcia Music Publishing, and has custom arranged music for concerts, special occasions, auditions, and more, appearing alongside music by artists like Jamey Ray, Derric Johnson, Ted Ricketts, and many others. His pieces have been performed for audiences of thousands in the Central Florida area and around the world. He has written music that has been performed by Grammy Award Winners, world renowned vocalists and instrumentalists, and his music has been featured in concerts with internationally famous ensembles.
In addition to composing, Maclane was a featured vocalist on both domestic and international choral music tours, assembled professional choral groups for many ensembles, and can be heard on choral demos for multiple music publishers. He has been a soloist for a multitude of concerts for jazz bands, classical orchestras, and pop-symphonic concerts. Maclane can be heard regularly sining with the renowned vocal group “The Voices of Liberty” at EPCOT and the “Dapper Dans” at Magic Kingdom Park. His passions as a performer include vocal jazz and barbershop singing, and character acting.
